Video Killed the Radio Star

Video Killed the Radio Star...and other myths about modern-day marketing mediums.

Have you heard some say that ‘Print Media is dead ’? We’ve heard it too - and we would like to say we still very much have a strong pulse over here at Future Print.

Many said that the internet will take jobs, it will end industries as we know them and will replace traditional means of print advertising. We prefer to think that the digital age has improved print marketing, not threatened it. Innovative businesses (like us) evolve with technology, not expire because of it.

Remember when MTV was launched and everyone said that the golden era of radio was gone? Not true. Just ask Howard Stern, Ryan Seacrest and iheartradio - they make millions of dollars on radio per year. The reason they do? It’s because they took their radio to the internet. They evolved with mediums and the audiences.

Remember when everyone said Napster was going to kill the music business? Let’s check in with Spotify and Itunes to see how the music business is working out for them!

In our opinion, the internet enhances our business, it doesn’t hurt it. Social Media and Websites are an absolute must for overall exposure and engagement - It helps us to attract new customers, everyday. Technology will never replace a hand-held brochure, business card, banner, yard sign, billboard, envelope, or catalogue - it will only enhance the way in which they are printed and made available to clients.

In our next blog we will discuss how technology has changed the way in which your audience engages with your marketing materials.

Catalogues are making a comeback, stay tuned to find out why!

How has technology changed your business?
